ACQUISITIONS IN NORWAY
Weatherford has been the direct beneficiary of Norway’s wealth of intellectual capital in more ways than one. In addition to our local recruiting efforts, several acquisitions have contributed to our expansion here, adding valuable human resources and innovative technology to our Norwegian, as well as global, product and service portfolio.
The 1996 acquisition of Nodeco AS, a Norwegian manufacturer of liner systems ideally suited for the inclement North Sea, has heavily influenced the development of our highly durable liner systems.
More recently acquired Norwegian enterprises include Bakke Oil Tools AS; Sicom AS, a maker of state-of-the-art
subsea downhole equipment; and V-Tech AS, a developer of innovative
tubular running equipment.
We also have integrated Trodheim and Stavanger-based ResLabs AS, which provides core analysis and other reservoir evaluation services, into our global network of geoscience laboratories, known collectively as
Weatherford Laboratories. Additionally ResLab Integration is now
Weatherford Petroleum Consultants.
